Canada – New standards ICES-001 issue 5

The  Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) has published a new version of the following standards:

The changes in this issue identified by ISED are:

      • changed title from Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) Radio Frequency Generators to Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) Equipment
      • included specific requirements for induction cooking appliances, which were in the scope of edition 4 of CISPR 11 (referenced in ICES-001, issue 4), but were removed from the scope of the edition 6.1 of CISPR 11 (referenced in this issue) (section 1.1 and 3.3)
      • added requirements for ISM equipment with wireless power transfer functionality (section 1.2)
      • added an exemption for external power supplies or converters that are not incorporated in a piece of equipment, when they are subject to and have been demonstrated to comply with another ISED standard (section 1.4)
      • added an exemption for ISM equipment that is covered under another ICES standard (section 1.4)
      • removed requirements that are specified in ICES-Gen and referred to ICES-Gen for all general requirements (section 2.2)
