Mauritius – Update to Spectrum Guidelines for Wireless Access Services

The Information & Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) of Mauritius has published a new guideline for the use of wireless devices in the 6GHz band. The new decision from August 2022 allows WAS/RLAN devices to operate as follows:

5945 – 6425 MHz Indoor Low Power (ILP) 23 dBm (200mW) mean e.i.r.p.

Mean e.i.r.p. density for in
band emissions – 10
dBm/MHz

An adequate spectrum
sharing mechanism shall be implemented
Indoor use only.
Outdoor use (including in
road vehicles) is not
permitted.
5945 – 6425 MHz Very Low Power (VLP) 14 dBm (25 mW) e.i.r.p.

Mean e.i.r.p. density for in
band emissions – 1
dBm/MHz

An adequate spectrum sharing mechanism shall be
implemented
For Indoor and outdoor use, except fixed outdoor use.
Use on radio-controlled models is prohibited.

A VLP device is portable.
