New Zealand – Regulation update for Short Range Devices (SRD)

Radio Spectrum Management has published a revised version of the regulations for SRDs – Radiocommunications Regulations (General User Radio Licence for Short Range Devices) Notice 2022.

The changes in this version include:

    1. a change to 5150 ā€“ 5350 MHz to clarify that TPC and DFS is only required for the 5250-5350 MHz portion.
    2. addition of a new range for WLAN in the 5925 – 6425 MHz band. It is now possible to operate in the following modes
      1. Indoor at a power of 24dBm EIRP
      2. Indoor/Outdoor at a power of 14dBm EIRP
    3. 60 GHz devices can now operate in the range 57 – 71 GHz (previously this was 57 – 66 GHz). Power limit has been increased to 25dBW EIRP and indoor-only restriction has been removed.
