Brazil – Updates to Conformity Assessment Procedures – Telecommunication and Radiocommunication Devices

Anatel has published three new Acts to supplement Resolution 715 of October 23, 2019; concerning the conformity assessment process for telecommunications and radiocommunications devices.

Act 2220 of April 20, 2020 – Operational Procedure for Conformity Assessment

Three certification procedures are defined:

    • Type 1a – Certification based upon type testing
    • Type 4 – Certification based upon type testing with periodic product evaluation
    • Type 5 – Certification based upon type testing with periodic evaluation of the product and the factory management system

Act 2221 of April 20, 2020 – Product labeling

Rules for use of Anatel logo and approval number. Also contains for labeling products using approved modules and support for electronic labeling.

Act 2222 of April 20, 2020 – Telecommunications Products Reference List

Identifies the certification process for different categories of telecommunications products. For example:
