India has published a new policy for Equipment Type Approval (ETA) for certain categories of Wireless Equipment using license exempt bands. ETA is to be achieved through self-declaration by the importer or authorized Indian representative, instead of the previous ETA application to the WPC wing of the Department of Telecommunications.
