India has published revised rules for 5 GHz WLAN operation that replaces previous separate rules for indoor and outdoor use of WLAN devices in the 5 GHz band. The revised rules allow indoor and outdoor operation in all bands and increases the allowed range to include 5470-5725 MHz.
New rules have also been published for Short Range Devices (SRDs) that permit further devices and applications to operate on an unlicensed basis.
