The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) has issued The Telecommunication Directive 2 of 2017 on 1 Dec 2017. This Directive exempts certain products from type approval by ICTA, as listed below:
- Wired PABX systems
- Bluetooth only equipped devices
- Devices equipped only with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth
Nevertheless, licensed dealers have to ensure that the wired PABX systems comply with the CISPR22/EN55022 and CISPR24/EN55024 EMC standards and the IEC/EN60950 safety standard while Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth devices comply with the relevant ETSI EN Radio, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Safety standards.
