Anatel has published Act No. 493 of 2017, which introduces certification requirements for mobile phone chargers. The new regulation will specifically cover four types of charger:
- Mains powered chargers with a DC wired connection to the mobile
- Mains powered inductive (wireless) chargers
- Vehicle based wired chargers (from 12V or 24V DC supply)
- Vehicle based inductive (wireless) chargers
Labeling of certified chargers is also a requirement, as with batteries used for mobile phones (Resolution 481).
