Thailand – Update to Cellular Mobile Technical Requirements

NBTC of Thailand has published updates to the technical requirements for various types of cellular mobile devices.

Description New Standard Changes
Technical Standard for User Equipment of Cellular Land Mobile Service Using GSM Technology 1004-2560 Formerly Draft NTC TS 1004-2553, which supersedes NTC TS 004-2548, specifies minimum technical requirements for user equipment of cellular land mobile service using GSM technology. The new standard includes the following amendments:

  • Deleting obsolete reference standards I-ETSI 300 020-1, I-ETSI 300 020-3 and ETS 300 607-1
  • Adding radiation exposure requirements
Technical Standard for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) Equipment Using IMT-2000 CDMA Direct Spread Technology: User Equipment 1015-2560 Formerly Draft NTC TS 1015-2552, which supersedes NTC TS 1015-2549, specifies minimum technical requirements for user equipment of International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT) system using IMT-2000 CDMA direct spread technology.

  • Amendments are made by adding the technical requirements for equipment operating in the frequency band V and band VIII, while technical requirements for equipment operating in band I remain unchanged from the previous version of this standard (NTC TS 1014-2549).
  • There are also requirements for human radiation exposure.
Technical standard for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) Equipment using Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) Technology: User Equipment 1027-2560 Formerly Draft NTC TS 1027-2557, specifies minimum technical requirements for User Equipment of International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) system using Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) Technology. There also are requirements for human radiation exposure.
