IDA are reminding interested parties that 2G networks will stop operating on 1 April 2017. Customers using 2G-only equipment will need to upgrade to 3G or 4G devices before this date in order to maintain service (this includes all 2G devices including mobile handsets, point of sales terminals and machine-to-machine equipment, etc.). Dealers are instructed to stop sales of 2G-only equipment as soon as possible (no later than 1 November 2016).
