Brazil – Updates to Regulations for restricted radiation devices

Following on from Public Consultation No. 54, Anatel has published Act 4776 of September 01, 2020 that modifies the technical requirements for Restricted Radiation Devices (short range devices). This Act modifies Annex 1 of Act 14,448 of December 4, 2017; and includes the following changes:

    • Wireless Broadband Access System for Local Area Networks operating in the 5150–5350 MHz with a higher allowed power.
    • Vehicle Communication System (Intelligent Transportation System – ITS) in the 5.850-5.925 MHz band; and
    • Wireless Multigigabit system operating in the 57-71 GHz range, extension of the range from 64 GHz to 71 GHz. Power is limited to 40dBm average EIRP.
    • In addition to the inclusion of the techniques for evaluating the Media Access Sharing System. Frame Based Equipment (FBE) and Load Based Equipment (LBE) must follow the requirements in ETSI EN 301 893 V2.1.1 section 4.2.7.3.
