The FCC also plans to make further rulings in the future that would allow unlicensed outdoor use of this band.<\/p>\n<p>This band was previously allocated for Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC), for the implementation of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) services. The band is now split for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>5.850 &#8211; 5.895 GHz for Unlicensed use.<\/li>\n<li>5.895 &#8211; 5.925 GHz for automobile safety using Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FCC has published new rules that allow unlicensed use of the 5.850 &#8211; 5.895 GHz band and is available for indoor Wi-Fi use.
